Virtualisation

I have meaning to Blog about the benefits I have been getting from using Virtual PC 2004 on my new machine.

Michael Long has said similar things about Virtualisation using Parallels which does a simlar job as far as I can see. Of course someone is likely to tell me there is a new version out there. I installed and configured Virtual PC 2004 and then received the new disk from Microsoft, the next day. Really frustrating!

I have virtual machines ready for CF5, 6.1, 7 and Scorpio. All on the same machine. Its great! as an example the other day I needed to check out the differences between a server running ISAPI rewriter and one that wasn't. It only took a few minutes to copy a server and install ISAPI rewriter. Having both available to check out an issue saved hours of work.

Does anyone know how easy it is to upgrade the software to Virtual PC 2007? What happens to all those nice virtual machines if I install the new version?
