				<title>Saving Money on Software Licences</title>
				<link>http://www.objectiveaction.com/Kevin/index.cfm/2008/7/22/Saving-Money-on-Software-Licences</link>
				<description>

				This suggestion seems really obvious but when I checked I just realised that I was wasting money.

I asked my collegue to buy two copies of Windows Server 2003 for some new servers we were adding to our server farm. Then I thought a bit about it and remembered some stuff we had from microsoft in the cupboard.

After spending an hour going through the cupboard I realised that we already had one of the two licences sitting unused in the cupboard. It had originally been bought for another project which has ended and was no longer being used.

Have you got any unused licences that could be reused for soemone else in your company? You could save lots just by moving them to another machine.
